Working with UltraPRINT
Before you start... If you want UltraPRINT to do your layout or design you should have an idea of what you want to achieve. You will need to give us these things:
- Your intended audience
- Information to include, e.g. body text, contact details
- Photos or images to be used. These can be supplied either as a computer file or a good quality print. Any images or photos you supply will need to be in a format we can use (PDF, TIF, JPG), and at a high resolution (usually 300dpi).
- Fonts. If you require a particular font, please check with us to ensure we have it. We will need to know the exact name of the font. Alternatively, you may have to settle for a similar font, or you will need to supply us with an open source font (free to use).
If you want to supply your own artwork:
- Set your page size to the correct size. Standard sizes we use are DL, A5, A4 & A3. Business cards should be 50mm x 90mm.
- Layout your artwork as you want. Ensure you leave a clear edge of at least 6mm around all four edges of the page to make sure nothing gets cut off when it's printed.
- Supply the file as a print-ready PDF. Be sure to use images and photos of at least 300dpi if you want clear and sharp prints of high quality.
- If in doubt ring us before you start! This will save you a lot of time by not having to redo it all.
Our Printing Systems
Black-and-white or spot (single) colour
Small to large runs of up to 10,000 are printed on the premises. Envelopes and standard sizes (A5 to A3) prints can usually be printed within 2 days of placing your order.
Full colour
Up to 1000 pages can be printed quickly on the premises. Sizes accepted are A5, A4 and A3. Larger runs are more economically run at our offset facilities. We can print from a printed copy you supply or from an electronic file - PDF preferred.
Larger runs of full colour and specialty products such as presentation folders and custom sizes are designed on the premises, but are sent to our offset printer. By doing this, we can offer you very competitive pricing, and high quality prints. These jobs will take from 5-10 working days to complete.
Plan Printing
We can copy black-and-white plans up to A0 size. Plans can be supplied electronically (email, USB, CD) as a PDF file. These can be printed up to A0 size in either black-and-white or full colour. Plan printing can usually be completed the same or next day.
Large format printing - posters, canvas and specialty prints
Our photo quality printer is suitable for high quality photographic and canvas printing. We can print up to 1.2 metres wide on a variety of media including matt, gloss and satin photographic paper, canvas, self-adhesive and more. Large format prints are printed individually from an electronic file. Volume printing of posters, pullup banners and outdoor signs are sent to our trade printer. These take 5-10 working days to complete and deliver.
Dispatching
Jobs produced in-house: we will have your job ready by the date we arrange with you. Outsourced jobs: we will ring you when your job is delivered to us. You can either pick up your printing from us at UltraPRINT, or we can arrange delivery to you.
Proofs
Proofs are samples of the layout/design we produce for you. When a proof is ready for your approval, you can come in to UltraPRINT to check it, or we can email it to you. You will need to let us know of any changes you may need, or reply in writing with your approval. Once we receive your approval, printing will commence.
